Our duties

IKANO must act as a responsible company, a good neighbour and a good employer. We treat our customers and co-workers respectfully and develop long-term relationships with our partners.

We also support selected social initiatives, both locally and globally, where our help can make a difference. We aim to be environmentally friendly in our way of doing business.

Environment: IKANO is committed to developing environmentally friendly policies. We work hard to reduce our energy consumption, and our Greening IKANO initiative includes such activities as using recycled paper in our offices, recycling our waste and installing filtered water supplies. We also provide changing and storage facilities for those wishing to cycle to work.

Community: For several years IKANO sponsored a local primary school, where activities included helping children to read, running after school clubs and sponsoring Christmas parties. With the closure of the primary school we have now formed a new relationship with Bramcote Park Business and Enterprise School, and support them on Youth Enterprise projects.

Customers: We have a comprehensive Treating Customers Fairly programme, which aims to ensure that our products, services and communication are fair and appropriate to our customers. Feedback is sought from customers via surveys and telephone contact, and any issues are collated and addressed. We also adhere to all relevant industry codes including that of our industry body, the FLA.

People: Our Investors in People award shows our commitment to providing strong benefits and career development for all our co-workers. Listening to our employees is a strong part of our culture. Our co-workers have many opportunities to express their views on life at IKANO through employee surveys, coffee sessions with senior management and a Co-worker Consultation Forum.
